Frank Delaney was a prominent literary figure in the UK—a BBC journalist, a judge of the Man Booker Prize, and novelist—but he was less well-known in the United States when he moved here in 2001. He hired Leah to support his career in the US and to supplement Random House’s publicity work on behalf of his yearly work of Irish historical fiction, including Tipperary, Shannon, Venetia Kelly’s Traveling Show, and The Matchmaker of Kenmare.
Within a few months of working with Delaney, Leah booked him on the TODAY Show on St. Patrick’s Day. She also secured coverage in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, New York, USA Today, Chicago, multiple NPR affiliates, almost all the major Irish-American media outlets, and dozens of other first-tier radio, print, and online media.
She also lined up more than 30 top-tier speaking engagements, including a 300-person luncheon at the New York Sports Club, and talks at the Philadelphia Free Library, Brooklyn Book Festival, and New York State Writers’ Institute.
